My hubby's rags to cleaning rags

I know that those micro fibre cleaning cloths are all the rage right now. Barring they can completely scrub the toilet on their own, there is no way I am forking out the bucks they are asking. A rag is a rag in my book and my biggest complaint in a cleaning cloth is the thickness. If a towel is too dense I find It difficult to pick up those nasty spit out crumbs that seem to adhere themselves to the floor underneath the kids high chairs.

My favourite material to use for cleaning material is plain old t-shirts. I especially love the ones that have been used for many years, are thread bare, thin and plain ol' nasty. This enables me to get in those nooks and crannies where the thicker towels can't reach. Each season during wardrobe clean up I go through my DH shirts and replace at least 2 with fresh new ones. The old ones are quickly (before he can try to convince me he NEEDS them) cut up. I usually end up with plenty of rags to last me until the next clean sweep. The best part is they can be easily identified from dish cloths and there is no mix up when the laundry is complete and ready to be put away.

I'm with you on this one (using old rags/t-shirts) instead of forking out money better spent elsewhere.

And are guys ever willing to give up their raggedy old clothes? LoL

NO!

I am a big fan of finding cheap (or free) rags. Who needs to buy a pack of new rags when there's perfectly good ones waiting to get thrown out?

Great tip!

Great idea for cutting up t-shirts for rags and storing them in a container like that!

I have one of those for my old plastic bags but never thought of using one for rags.

BTW...I do have a few of those microfiber ones for dusting, but I got mine at a dollar store for 50 cents each. But for other cleaning you're right--there is nothing like a rag!

Great idea! Now I know what to do with the box in my closet that is full of my husband's hole-y socks! :)

Great tip-- I never thought about t-shirts!

I have an old diaper stacker that holds my rags but I will have to work on gettin' some t-shirts in there!
ABOUT THE BUNS:

Please do keep me posted!I hope to see some pics!

You may want to cut your rising time back about 15 minutes (or more), they don't need to be quite doubled as they do puff some in the oven!

I have the opposite problem-- I usually get to anxious and bake them before they've risen enough!;)

You can do it! I've seen your page.... and if I can- anyone can!

Blessings!

I do this too... I also use my hubby's old (matchless) socks for dusting furniture. Works great!

I think thats a great idea. I have been using old face clothes to clean up the bath room but t-shirts is a great idea.

As for diet...I can help you out there and maybe you can help me get my house/cupboards organized!

I just use old towels, that I cut up. Works like a charm. I have a big cotton bag I keep them in.

I'm still a paper towel girl, I need them! I use those for the mirrors.
